Chilli Paneer – Spicy, delicious, saucy, finger-licking good appetizer. Goes really well with naan, roti, fried rice, noodles or you can have it as it is. I have made it with little gravy as we were planning to eat it with roti but if you want to serve it as a snack make it a little dry.
Perfect for an evening snack, kids birthday parties, kitty parties or when you are in the mood for some indulgence. Chilli paneer and honey chilli potatoes are two of my favorite appetizers for serving guests. as we can finish frying and most of the work ahead of serving time. These are crowd pleasers and do not take much time or effort to whip up 😉

1 tsp vinegar

for garnish:
Spring onion greens chopped
To make chilli paneer
Cut paneer into thick cubes. Mix all the ingredients listed under for the batter. we want a thick paste that will coat the paneer cubes uniformly.
Heat oil for deep frying. Dip paneer cubes in the batter and deep fry till golden brown. You can fry it in small batches so that it fries uniformly.
This is the color we want. Fry all the pieces same way and drain on a paper towel or an absorbent paper to remove excess oil.
In a pan heat oil and sauté onions, green chilies, and capsicum for 2-3 minutes on high flame.
Remove veggies and in the same oil sauté garlic and ginger. Pour in cornflour water mixture reduce the flame and keep stirring.
when the mixture thickens add vinegar, soy sauce, red chili sauce, tomato ketchup, and salt.
Add sauteed veggies and fried paneer cubes to the gravy and give a boil. Garnish with chopped spring onions green. serve hot.
