Cheese Namak Pare -Diwali snacks. Namak pare with cheese. Kids will love them.
Cheese Namak Pare – Namak pare is a must in Diwali snacks. Who does not like savory, crispy Namak Pare. They are really easy to make is another point in their favor. For some time I have been making these cheese namak pare instead of regular namak pare.

It was my elder son who suggested this to me. he just can’t get enough of cheese and loves cheese lings. One day he asked me to make cheese lings at home. So I experimented by adding  processed cheese in namak pare dough. I started with a small quantity of cheese but have finally reached a stage where my kids find these just perfect. Better than perfect.

How to make cheese namak pare
preparation time : 10 minutes
cooking time : 20-25 minutes

Ingredients:

2 cups plain flour
100 grams cheese ( I have used 4 Amul cheese cubes)
1/2 tsp red chili powder
salt to taste ( add less quantity than regular namak pare as cheese is also salty)
1 tbsp oil

around ¼ cup water to make the dough
oil to fry

Make a well in the center of the flour. Add warm oil in it. Start mixing the oil in flour with soft hands. rub the flour with your hands so that all the oil is mixed with the flour uniformly. when you press the flour in your palm it should be able to hold its shape.

Using as little water as possible make a tight dough. As this has cheese in it dough will not be as hard as we make for namak pare. Divide the dough into 4 equal balls.

Roll out the dough as thin as you like. If you want very crispy cheese namak pare you can make them quite thin also but my family likes them this way. Using a knife cut into the desired shape. Deep fry in oil till golden brown at the medium-low flame. Keep stirring the pare in between while frying to ensure uniform cooking. Drain on an absorbent paper and leave to cool down.

Store in an airtight container on cooling down completely.
