Chocolate covered almonds – Super easy to make. your kids will love them. We all know that almonds are highly nutritious. These are loaded with antioxidants, a good source of vitamin E, minerals. Almonds have many health benefits. Team them up with kids favorite – chocolates. And watch your kids munch on some healthy sweets.
You can make chocolate covered cashews, peanuts or any other nuts in the same way.
How to make chocolate covered almonds
Preparation time : 5 minutes
cooking time: 3 minutes for roasting + 10 minutes for melting chocolates
2 cups almonds
200 grams dark cooking chocolate
1 tbsp sugar for sprinkling
To make chocolate covered almonds
Dry roast almonds for 3-4 minutes. Remove from the hot pan immediately and spread out on a plate to cool down.
Melt your chocolate using double boiler method or in the microwave. For double boiler method keep a pan half full of water to boil on gas. now put another pan / vessel on it. its surface should not touch the water in the pan below. Keep chocolate in it to melt. it will be faster if you cut the chocolate into smaller pieces before melting. Stir continuously till it melts and is smooth.
Take melted chocolate off the flame. mix it with a spoon till smooth. Chocolate will start to thicken. Add roasted almonds to the chocolate. Give it a good stir so that all the almonds are covered uniformly with chocolate.
With the help of a fork pick 2-3 almonds. gently tap the fork on the side of the bowl to remove excess chocolate. repeat the process with rest of the almonds. spread them in a plate or thali to cool down and chocolate to harden. Take care that almonds should not touch each other.
Sprinkle. sugar on the almonds to give this a crunchy feel. If you do not want you can avoid this step to cut back on sugar. Allow chocolate to set completely.
store them in the refrigerator. your tasty, healthy , chocolate covered almonds are ready.
