Masala Papad - ready in 5 minutes, vegetarian, indian snack, appetizer

Papads are the essential part of our Indian food. They can be served with pulao, khichdi, dal roti or basic dal chawal. They not only add taste and flavor to the food but also aid in digestions because of all the spices that are added to them.
In Rajasthan Papad is served at the end of a heavy meal to help in digestion. Some people spread a teaspoon of ghee also on them.

There are times when kids need a very light snack. they are not really hungry just something to munch on or to give them a 5-minute break from studies.
These masala Papads are perfect for times like that. Easy to prepare, yummy to munch on and light on stomach 🙂
These can also be served as an appetizer to guests with soup or cold drinks.

How to make Masala Papad
Cooking time: 5 minutes
preparation time: 5 minutes
makes 8 small masala papad

Ingredients:
8 papad

For masala:

2 onions finely chopped
2 tomato finely chopped( remove the seeds)
1 green chilly finely chopped
1/2 tsp chaat masala
1/4 tsp red chilly powder
salt to taste
1 tbsp finely chopped fresh coriander leaves

To make Masala Papad

Roast Papad on a gas stove or in the microwave as you wish. If you are not eating them right away you can store them in an airtight container for later use. Preferably these should be roasted right before you plan to eat them to ensure their crunchiness.

Mix everything mentioned under masala. Taste and adjust salt and spices according to your taste.
Spread a thin layer over roasted Papad and enjoy.
