Chickpea salad garnished with lemon wedges with a fork served on a wooden tableChickpea Salad or Chana Chaat – Chickpeas are a good source of protein that growing kids really need.
Chole or white chickpeas are relished by everyone in our house be it chole bhature, Tikki chole, Hummus, or Falafel wrap.

Whenever I boil chickpeas I always think that I will keep some aside for salad but somehow there is none left. This time, I had kept them aside for making falafel but the kids insisted on having the salad. I can’t really blame them it is so hot these days that salads are everyone’s first preference.
Chana chaat scooped up in a fork
Kids loved this Chana chaat so much that I was not sure there will be enough left for taking photos.
You can add whatever you like to the salad. I have added onions, tomato capsicum, green chilies, and coriander. You can add red and yellow peppers, cucumber, beetroots whatever you like.
The salad is quite filling and yummy. It’s perfect for lunch if you want to skip proper food and have only this salad.
